Each week following an artist's post, reflection questions and research ideas will get posted. These are aimed towards college level courses (senior seminar, composition, dance education, and more), but of course anyone can read the postscript and find thought-provoking questions and activities.

Review: Daniel's Profile
Re-read Daniel's artist profile. Highlight a few phrases that stuck out for you. Note why they caught your attention. Discuss within a course.
List: Personal Connections
Daniel made a connection with a member of the Limón Company in college, and used that connection to open doors for him. Make a list of connections you have made over the years - through college, summer workshops, your hometown, etc. How might these connections lead to jobs as a performer or teaching artist?
Reflect: Skills as a Dancer
Writing about what he looks for in a dancer, Daniel wrote:
I think work ethic and trust are as valuable as talent and ability. Someone who works really hard and is behind me is so important. I would rather have a healthy attitude in the studio than talent that doesn’t work hard or comes with attitude. I want a dancer to inspire me and tell me things I didn’t know about my own choreography. I want them to push me to unexpected places. I also think it important to have fun and enjoy the process so all of these things collectively contribute to that.
Consider the key ideas of: work ethic, trust, healthy attitude, inspiration, and pushing each other. Which of these ideas do you embody as a dancer? What are you working on right now? What are your areas of growth, and your areas of strength as a dancer?
