Each week following an artist's post, reflection questions and research ideas will get posted. These are aimed towards college level courses (senior seminar, composition, dance education, and more), but of course anyone can read the postscript and find thought-provoking questions and activities.

Research: Joe Goode Performance Group
Patricia dances for Joe Goode. If new to his work, spend some time on the web researching his site, Youtube clips, and TedX Talk.
There is also a great inside look at Goode and his company, archived on the KQED website (a twelve minute clip).
Reflect: The Present Moment
Patricia talked about being present in performance - both when writing about her strengths as a performer as well as what she loves about performing. Reflect for yourself about this generative tension we have in dance - an art form where we are always "working on" something (our technique, auditioning, getting a gig, refining choreography, etc) yet we are also wanting to "be here, now."
Discuss: On Teaching
Consider one of Patricia's sentences about teaching:
Teaching can be crucial in a dance career.
She gave a specific example related to this statement. In a college course, see if you can brainstorm a dozen reasons why/how "teaching can be crucial in a dance career."
